I live in Kentwood, but I'm originally from the Hastings and Middleville area. I'm going to GRCC  for my associate's degree in history. I want to create opportunities for people to engage with history outside of a textbook! I spend a lot of my time with my three cats and two horses, who I love dearly! I also enjoy dabbling in art, Karate, and video games with my partner of five years, Ethan.  

I discovered Olivia's Gift while job hunting, and I fell in love with the mission and the residents while doing my interview. I'm so glad I did!

I am 27 years old and I moved to Grand Rapids almost 3 years ago. Best decision I’ve ever made. I have 3 beautiful children that I adore oh so much. I am a lover. I have a really soft spot for anything and everything. I love working with people I can communicate with best and I love being hands on. Outside of working, I love being able to play with my children and giving them the best life possible. Being the best Mom I can be is what makes me keep striving and determined that I can be the best! 

I am currently attending Calvin University, with a major in Recreational Therapy, and a minor in psychology. I am also on the pre-occupational therapy track and plan to go to graduate school for OT. In my free time I love to hang out with family and friends, exercise, garden, and paint! I am also always up for a good dad joke! I heard about Olivia's Gift through a panel discussion at Calvin University. The overflowing joy and passion from the speakers showed me that Olivia's Gift is much more than a job. It is a beautiful community that one can be apart of! A community where people value meaningful relationships and care genuinely about each individual. Which is what I desire to live out in both my personal and professional life. I am so grateful to have the privilege of being apart of this community!

I am from Sheboygan, WI. I attend GVSU and am studying nursing. I originally started to volunteer at Olivia's Gift after hearing about it from my academic advisor, and I absolutely loved all the residents and staff! It is a great experience for my future career in healthcare, and I love caring for people and building relationships. I love spending time with friends and family, as well as music! I play guitar and sing on the worship team on my campus student ministry.

I am a junior at Grand Valley State University and am studying allied heath science with a social science emphasis. I am pursuing a career in occupational therapy! In my free time I enjoy working out, going on walks, being outdoors, spending time with my friends and family, and volunteering. I am passionate about serving others in every way that I can. I heard about Olivia’s Gift through a healthcare panel done at GVSU. I was very interested in being able to do a job that I can learn so much in for my future career while still being a student. I noticed how positive and passionate the speakers were at the panel, which led me to want to be apart of this community.

I am studying Special Education & Spanish at Calvin University! I love anything crafty, I've been a competitive swimmer for 12+ years, journaling, reading, writing, traveling, listening to music, hanging out with family and friends, shopping at local markets, visiting new coffee shops, and advocacy for the Special Needs Community! I am very passionate about everything I commit to and am so excited to start at Olivias gift. I was previously a nursing major so some of the medical aspects of this position are relatively familiar, but I'm looking forward to gaining more expertise!

I am from Highland, MI. I attend GVSU where I am studying nursing. I love spending time with my husband, family back east, and friends! I used to swim competitively and play the piano, but I don't really have the opportunity now. So when I'm not busy with school, work, and chores, I like to read, draw, listen to music, ski/snowboard, camp, and be outdoors! I heard about Olivia's Gift through Handshake when I was looking for another job. When I saw the website full of beautiful smiling faces, I knew that this would be a perfect place for me to learn new skills and get hands-on experience while having fun!

I go to Grand Valley State Univeristy and majorng in Allied Health Sciences on the pre-PA track. I love cooking, shopping, and listening to music. My friends and I love swimming, tennis, and pickleball as well! I heard about Olivia's Gift through an employer showcase at school. I instantly knew I wanted to work here because it is such a tight knit community and I wanted to care for the lovely residents!

I’m a freshman at Grand Valley and I am majoring in Exercise Science on the pre-med track. I really enjoy going to the gym and going for runs, socializing with family and friends, and anything related to music! I can play 6 instruments! I heard about Olivia’s Gift through a job fair at Grand Valley, and I wanted to work here to make a difference in peoples’ lives, including my own. I want to provide care for all kinds of people!

I attend GVSU, where I am studying Allied Health Sciences with an emphasis on Social Science. I’m aspiring to be an occupational therapist. I have great motivation and passion for working with individuals with different abilities and helping them accomplish their goals. I am honored to be a part of the community at Olivia’s Gift and am excited to grow with you. I love competitive swimming, baking, and spending time with friends and family. 

I just graduated from Michigan State University with a BS in Natural Science. I studied Human Biology and am going to be applying to PA school next year! I enjoy traveling, coloring, reading & spending time with my friends/family! I heard about Olivia’s Gift through a previous employee who happened to be someone I went to high school with! She had nothing but amazing things to say and I’ve always had a passion for helping others and watching them grow & learn each day so I knew I had to join the family. Already I can tell that I am going to be the one learning so much from this experience and all of these wonderful people and I am extremely excited. 

I go to Grand Valley State University and I am in the Recreational Therapy program. I heard about Olivia’s Gift through my school’s Recreational Therapy program as a healthcare experience opportunity. I wanted to work here specifically because I am passionate about giving those with unique abilities the same quality care as everyone else, and that is part of OG’s mission. I am very grateful to be apart of the Olivia’s Gift family.

I currently attend Cornerstone University, and I am studying Occupational Therapy. I attended an Exercise Science club meeting, and it just so happened Olivia's Gift was the guest speaker. Not only their mission but hearing that I'd get to learn through hands-on interactions left me hopeful! I've always felt this fire for following "the golden rule" (treat others how you wish to be treated) and it simply felt like OG was the place to let this flourish. Walking through OG2 solidified, I can't wait to call this my workplace.  

I go to Calvin University and I am studying Exercise Science and Psychology on a Pre Occupational Therapy track. In my free time, I love playing soccer, working out, going to the beach, and traveling with my family. I heard about Olivia's Gift through my friend Maddie, who has been working there for over a year. I have always had a passion for helping others and enabling this population to live as independently as they can. I can't wait to begin this next chapter and learn so much along the way!

I am a student at Grand Valley State University studying Allied Health Sciences to become an occupational therapist. I love music. I actually played trumpet for the Grand Valley Marching Band! I love playing music and listening to it. I also love to color and paint. Weight lifting is also a hobby I started in recent years and really enjoy it. I heard about Olivia’s Gift through Grand Valley’s Allied Health Science program. I visited a career fair and talked to a couple of care managers who worked at the homes and immediately knew I had to apply. Olivia’s Gift  sounded like such a great environment and wonderful place to gain work experience for my career. The people also sounded like they loved their job and the people that they got to work with. It made me excited to apply here! I can tell it is going to be a wonderful and rewarding job all around! I am very social and adaptable to many environments. Family is so important to me, so I want to make the most of this job and create a second family here at Olivia’s Gift. 

I am a junior at GV, majoring in allied health science and hoping one day to be an occupational therapist! I love going for walks and listening to music and just enjoying nature. When it gets too cold to walk outside I enjoy watching movies and shows. I am always looking for new things to watch or listen to, so please give me recommendations! I heard about Olivia’s Gift through a current employee who told me how wonderful of a place it is to work. Learning about the purpose of Olivia’s Gift and how meaningful the job is made me have to apply. The atmosphere and friendliness of the staff and families was what made me have to get and keep the job.

I go to Grand Valley State University and I am currently studying Biomedical Sciences. In hopes of becoming a surgeon. I really love to read any kind of genre. I’ve been trying to pick up on knitting/crochet but I haven’t had the time lately. When I was younger I was really good at skateboarding. I’m from East Africa and fun fact my last name means that I’m one of 2 but I don’t have a twin. It’s my dad’s last name who is a twin and he decided to give us his last name. I heard about Olivia’s Gift from my advisor and I want to work at Olivia’s gift because working with people on different walks of life is really important to me. My mom also works in this field and I’ve been to work with her and she’s also inspired me to also purse a job similar to her’s. 

 I grew up swimming both for fun and competitively. In my free time I love to make things like cross stitch or crochet. I’m also pretty involved in my sorority, Alpha Sigma Alpha, and when I’m not working or studying I’m spending time with my friends. After I graduate in the spring I intend on coming back to GV for the second degree BSN program.  

heard about OG through the director of my program. She sent out an email to AHS majors to coordinate internships. It sounded like such an amazing opportunity that I had to apply. I’ve worked in assisted living before this, which is similar in some capacities. I really love the unique connection with each resident and how rewarding it is to be there for each other in every step of life. I’m super excited to work here and get to know everyone. It seems like a very interconnected community and I can’t wait to be apart of it. Also ask me about my cat! I’m obsessed with her!
